Where we work

Milan & Italy

Senior direction, fractional and temporary management and value creation for structured SMEs, the mid-market and fund-owned companies across Italy. We bring large-company capability into the businesses that need it — to steer growth, a turning point or a value programme — with Swiss method, in-person presence and accountability for the result. An hour from Milan, close to Italy's industrial fabric.

Top-tier direction for the Italian mid-market

Italy is a fabric of high-potential SMEs and family businesses — Europe's second-largest manufacturing base — yet most operate without access to continuous senior leadership: too structured for the founder alone, too far from the scale that justifies a full-time C-suite. That gap is exactly where we work. We bring large-company capability into structured firms, as temporary or fractional management, where growth, a turning point or a value programme needs steering. We operate from a Swiss base but an hour from Milan and close to the northern industrial districts: present in person, fluent in the local way of doing business, and supplying the execution discipline and neutrality that are missing when the most important decisions sit with the people who have run the company forever.

For entrepreneurs, the mid-market and funds

From the entrepreneur preparing the company for capital or a generational handover, to the fund that must create value in a holding: we work on the first 100 days, governance and execution discipline, with measurable outcomes. For entrepreneurs we bring direction that professionalises the business without diluting its identity — organisation, reporting, delegation, readiness for growth or a transaction. For funds we act as an operating partner who sits inside the portfolio company and owns the numbers: a 100-day plan, margin and cash levers, commercial focus, a strengthened management team. In both cases the spine is the same — Strategy, Structure, Control — because strategy without structure and control stays on the page, and in Italy execution is precisely where deals are won or lost.

Who we serve in Italy

Three profiles that share the same need for senior direction on demand. Structured SMEs and mid-market family businesses — from the northern districts to Italy's dispersed excellence — that must make the leap in organisation, governance and management depth without losing their identity. Private-equity funds and investors with Italian holdings, looking for an operating partner who can turn the investment thesis into real value on the ground. Entrepreneurs at a turning point: accelerated growth, an incoming investor, a generational handover, repositioning or turnaround. To each we calibrate the format and intensity of the engagement to the real need, with senior people present in person and accountable for the outcome — not a junior team learning at the client's expense.

A Swiss boutique close to Italian industry

Our vantage point is an advantage for Italian companies: a Swiss standard of governance, confidentiality and rigour, combined with first-hand knowledge of how business is actually done in Italy. For companies looking beyond the border — toward Switzerland, Germany, international markets or the Gulf — we are a natural bridge: we build foreign presence with real substance, align governance across jurisdictions and steer internationalisation past the errors that usually derail it. For those focused on the domestic market, the same rigour lifts the company to the standard that international capital and partners expect. In a market where continuous senior leadership is still rare, arriving with method, neutrality and a track record is what makes the difference.

The context

Context. The global fractional/interim management market is growing +46% year on year and 72% of CEOs will increase their use of it (Vendux, 2026); in Italy the model is less mature than elsewhere — less crowded for those arriving with method and a track record. It is a country of family businesses and SMEs where the constraint is rarely talent or product, but access to top-tier direction at the moments that matter: growth, capital, generational handover, a turning point. Senior, neutral, results-accountable leadership on a flexible basis is the most direct way to close that gap — and, in the Italian mid-market, where tangible value is created.

Frequently asked

Temporary, interim or fractional management — what's the difference?

In Italy the terms coexist: "temporary/interim" is a full-time, time-boxed mandate; "fractional" is an ongoing part-time presence. We choose the format based on the company's real need rather than a label — often starting intensive and moving to a fractional presence for continuity.

Do you work with private-equity funds in Italy?

Yes. As operating partner we support funds and portfolio companies on 100-day plans, value creation, turnaround and board governance — inside the business and accountable for the numbers agreed with the fund.

You are a Swiss firm — do you really work in the Italian market?

Yes, and by design. We operate from a Swiss base but an hour from Milan and close to the industrial districts: present in person and fluent in the local context, we bring a Swiss standard of governance into the practical reality of doing business in Italy.
